seriously, if you looked at these forums alone you would think modern warfare 2 was the worst game ever and i realize that all the comments will say im an idiot for liking this Piece of shit game, but whatever
1) I find shooting stuff in games fun, and this game happens to do that very well.
2) The balance. Seriously, I have used just about every gun in this game and if you think something is underpowered its because you never took the time to figure out how to use it
3)Melee. I see alot of people say how can a knife be stronger then a gun?!? Its a god damn game. Its meant to be fun. You do know games are supposed to be fun, right?
4)Maybe i'm a minority here, but fuck dedicated servers. Matchmaking is fast, efficient, and i dont need to worry about finding a game myself.
im sure i could think of alot more, but its late.... so yeah... start flaming me cause i like something popular and everyone knows its uncool to like popular things

Why i like MW2

Man, you are totally right shooting stuff is fun! Also tell anyone who got stabbed through the neck that knives aren't strong...I'm just saying.
I also agree with the gun balance, I decided to get mastery with all of the guns, and forcing yourself to try every gun really widens your horizons as to what guns can be applicable to what situations.
Just so you know, dedicated servers do not necessitate the browsing through long server lists of yore. Also, Modern Warfare 2 definitely is a great shooter under all of the bugs, glitches and exploits, but I think most of us around here just don't want to put up with that nonsense anymore.
Well, I won't speak for everyone else. That's the way it is for me.
I think you are prolly a troll but I have a lot of time on my hands.
- The shooting isn't good. There is no recoil. CoD 4 did it much better because the guns felt powerful. Shooting an assault rifle at pinpoint accuracy over 300m isn't what I call fun. It also unbalances the game because you can use assault rifles as snipers.
- Assault rifles are so overpowered, you can use them in every situation. Before I traded in MW2 for BC2 I used the ACR all the time and it was great in every situation.
- People don't care about the melee, it was in CoD 4, what people care about is the hyper fast knifing with tactical knife and the teleport ability known as commando.
- No dedicated servers means no user created content, which is one of the best things about PC gaming. It's Activision's way of making gamers pay for more.
If you enjoy it then that's fine, but you have to appreciate why people think it is a bad game.
I have never been in a game on MW2 that was matchmade fast or efficiently. The rest of OP sounds bizarre but the matchmaking compliment takes it too far.
2) The balance. Seriously, I have used just about every gun in this game and if you think something is underpowered its because you never took the time to figure out how to use it 3)Melee. I see alot of people say how can a knife be stronger then a gun?!? Its a god damn game. Its meant to be fun. You do know games are supposed to be fun, right?Come on now. I like MW2 but it is far from balanced. And the fact that people can warp and knife me from 5 feet away with the terrible Commando perk is complete garbage.

2) The balance. I killed quick and died quick. Are you gonna tell me thats the way its supposed to be because its a fast-paced game? fuck that. it felt chaotic.

" 3)Melee. I see alot of people say how can a knife be stronger then a gun?!? Its a god damn game. Its meant to be fun. You do know games are supposed to be fun, right?"I agree on that. Though i found the knifing in BC2 alot more challenging and satisfying, but lets not compare games. The knifing in MW2 felt more like a coward move rather than a brave attack. but overall it was acceptable.

"I've always been a PC gamer and i love the PC, but i must agree with you. In a random, reckless, small-mapped, hyperactive, frustrating, unbalanced and glitchy-as-fuck multiplayer shooter made for camping assholes with a noob-ish feel to it, a quick matchmaking is all you need to run around like an asshole collecting kills. Leave the dedicated servers for GOOD shooters with a good diverse experience and actually something to offer. So much to offer that dedicated servers are essential.
Then again, i have no problem with us disagreeing because not all shooter fans are the same. Some find the fun in a superficial game like COD with nothing to do other than run and gun around the same 5 buildings, And some want just a liiiiiittle bit more challenge and depth and the feeling of accomplishment. A true military experience.. who go for games like Battlefield.
Either an expert troll or just something that defies belief. Battlefield does not (and has never) represented or attempted to represent realism. I've loved Battlefield since 1942 but that statement boggles the mind.

Also I like MW2 and continue to play it but I can understand why people wouldn't since sometimes it's hells of frustrating, it does get an unusual amount of hate on giantbomb though.
" I think you are prolly a troll but I have a lot of time on my hands."Excuse me, where do you get off calling the OP a troll when, by all accounts, what you proceed to do is more "trolling" than he did? He acknowledged that his opinion was an unpopular one and went on to state why he has an affection for the game.
" @Ahmad_Metallic said:First of all, stop throwing the word TROLL around all the time... its fucking sad. Secondly, where did i say "realistic" ? It isnt realistic, but the military experience in that franchise (espicially Battlefield 2 and Bad Company 2) is very well structured that at times you feel like you're actually a soldier on a battlefield ( not REALISM-wise, but experience-wise.. action-wise. You're not just running around a couple of buildings shooting and knifing. You're actually planning your attack and achieving something with your kills and advances.)Either an expert troll or just something that defies belief. Unless of course you play on a regular team in which case both games improve 100x and do actually become about planning even in TDM.
Edit: Now that I read you called me "fucking sad" for some reason I regret being so genial but whatevs.
" Edit: Now that I read you called me "fucking sad" for some reason I regret being so genial but whatevs. "No man, dont regret it. I didnt call you fucking sad, i said its fucking sad how the word Troll is so overused and exploited, thrown quickly at any troll-like post..
I would still disagree in that most rounds of battlefield (especially BC2 on live) devolve into half the team going sniper and the other half throwing down health packs and reviving each other in order to advance their own levels instead of ever getting a whiff of the objective. "I play Battlefield 2 alot more than BC2, And i can tell you than in BF2 there are still alot of people who appreciate the shit ton of tactics and crazy action you get from playing a Conquest map the right way. But either way, what i said wasnt necessarily "when you play battlefield you DO have a great experience" so much as "Battlefield is made for you to have a great experience" . So if the majority of BC2 players are being selfish pricks, they're to blame and not the game. The game is structured around certain objectives and giving you lots of [military] resources to try and get shit done, and thats what im praising here.

" I would also argue that its only TDM in MW2 that is strictly the tearing around killing and that the objective based modes are far, far more fun. "I won't lie and say that ive played MW2 a whole lot. last time i checked i was level 20 which is when i stopped playing (around january). I believe i tried all modes available several times, and i still think its extremely superficial and unsatisfying. If not, then enlighten me please, what modes are you talking about and how do they differ so much from the usual run and gun ?
Thinking about I've even found hardcore team deathmatch to be pretty tactical even while playing with public players on live. Other than that dominations always has a great feel to since teamwork really is essential to win (with kills being worth half xp in this mode noone is playing it to run and gun). Search and destroy encourages tactical play since there's no respawns. Don't get me wrong I've had some terrible experiences with MW2 and plenty of great ones in my time of playing with BC2, when everyone works together in both games they are absolutely fantastic.
i never said anything about bfbc2, in fact the little time i have played it i can tell im gonna love it and as soon as i get the money its the next game im getting
please stop comparing the game this blog is about (MW2) vs the game that i never mentioned (BFBC2)
edit: also the person saying assault rifle is overpowered because it is good in any situation, sure its good for all of them, its not the best for any situation though
SMG or shotgun will blow it out of the water short range
LMG will blow it out of the water mid range
sniper rifle will blow it out of the water long range
how is it overpowered if it isnt the best at anything and just ok at everything?
