Overview
John Fitzgerald Kennedy was the thirty-fifth President of the United States. He entered office in 1961 and remained in office until November 22, 1963; the day he was assassinated via sniper fire in Dallas, Texas by Lee Harvey Oswald. During his brief period as president, Kennedy had a number of historic highs and lows, ranging from the acceleration of the American space program in its race to the moon against Russia, to the disastrous Bay of Pigs incident.
Kennedy's assassination is a source of a great deal of conspiracy theorizing, largely owing to the idea that Oswald did not act alone and that there was a second gunman present. However, these theories have been debunked. Nevertheless, the assassination has proven to be inspiration for more than one video game in and of itself.
In Video Games
Reelect JFK
In Reelect JFK, the player takes the role of President Kennedy in an alternate history in which he survived the assassination attempt. The player must spend the following year pursuing the goal of being reelected to a second term while also handling issues such as Vietnam, the civil rights movement, and a personal investigation into the assassination attempt. Notably, the game does not feature Oswald; the identity of the would-be assassin is a fictitious character.
JFK Reloaded
In JFK Reloaded, the player takes the role of Lee Harvey Oswald in an attempt to assassinate President Kennedy.
Call of Duty: Black Ops
In Call of Duty: Black Ops, JFK is a playable character alongside Robert McNamara, Richard Nixon and Fidel Castro in the Nazi Zombies mode. He is only playable on the 'Five' map, which is set in the Pentagon during a zombie attack.
