Hey. Just wondering if this would be a good RTS to start out with. I've never touched an RTS game before except for 10 minutes of some other game that I forgot the name of. I'm also a fan of the Halo lore, and if this game adds to that experience as well.

In terms of acsessability, user freindly controls, straighforward tactics, and a good entry in Halo's storyline. Then yes, this is a good start.
 
It is by no means the best one out there, and I as an avid Halo fan will be first one to admit it. Theres lots of better, more complex and interesting RTS games out there.
 
But yes, it is a good start.

I agree, it's not the best RTS, but it's a darn good one.  I'm a big fan of both Halo and Ensemble Studios, so this game was a no-brainer for me.  I will say though, of all RTS games on a console I have played, this one was built the best for playing with a gamepad.  Ensemble worked hard to give the player plenty of "hotkeys" with the controller, and the overall size and pacing of the games seems perfect for playing on the 360.  Multiplayer is pretty fun too, although it is definitly dwindling now.

If you are new to RTS games, this is probably the best one to start with on a console if only for the fact that it is built the best for console play.

If you can't play on the pc, it's probably the best choice.

Best intro to rts is Starcraft 1. Buy from the Blizzard store and download it.

It is very good, but there is only an average of 5,000 people on at once

Civilization Revolution was a very good console port of the Civilization series. I'm my opinion it's much better than Halo Wars. I would recommend checking it out, but there is a learning curve.

True. I guess it just depends on the person. I started with Rome Total war and that got me addicted to RTS/TBS type games.
