Doesn't rock as hard as Rock Band.

    Pros
    • Good song selection..but not as good as Rock Band.
    • Good online and matchtypes...but not as good as Rock Band.
    • The more challenging music game (in the Guitar category obviously)

    Cons

    • DLC fails
    • Graphics and animation need serious help
    • No customizable characters

    Presentation

Menus look great. Presentation of the band could have been much better. Often the singing doesnt match the singers lips well, and the drummer is like a robot.

    3/5

    Graphics

Decent for a music game, but not as good as Rock Band.

    3.5/5

    Gameplay

Just as fun as Guitar Hero has always been, but if you're looking for the ultimate and much more entertaining music game experience..this is not for you.

    3.5/5

    Sound

Good song selection, though severely outdone by Rock Band, especially when including Rock Bands over 200 DLC songs.

    3/5

    Online

Great online battles, add replay value. Though not nearly as fun as playing as a band on Rock Band.

    3.5/5

    Lasting Appeal

The addition of online will extend your playtime a few months.

    3.5/5

    Overall

A good music game for the crowd that doesn't want the drums and singing. More simple and just a guitar.

    3/5

This is the third installment of the Guitar Hero gaming series...It's a pretty good game, though just a bit behind II in the music range but there's enough to make up for it. If you ever played any of the other Guitar Hero games...then this is not too much of a difference other than online play but the soundtrack is still pretty good especially with exclusives like the Halo theme song that will give you both a laugh and also great feel for an addition. It isn't as great as Guitar Hero II's sou...

I'm going to start this review, by taking you back to pre-release. Guitar Hero fans were going nuts, thought it looked awesome.Well, the day of the release it basically said BOOM and every single copy was sold. Even the ones without a guitar, gone. But, I got a hold of one since one store was smart enough to atleast buy in several without a guitar. So, I was happy with that. But, I couldn't play the game. It wouldn't get past the intro, after the intro it would instantly freeze. Well, I went bac...
