Sony announced on the PlayStation blog today that the PSVR2 will be launching on February 22nd 2023 for $549.99.

I feel that this kinda lines up with all the speculation that has been swirling for a while, but does it sound like a fair price to you? For me I won’t be just because I cannot afford anything right now.

here is the blog post for you all to see

Its less expensive that I thought it would be. I was looking at between 600-800 dollars. But its still too high for me right now, maybe in the future. The sad thing is, if enough PS5s are in the homes by then, they might raise the price.

I'm pretty sure that costs more than what I paid for both the VR headsets I already own that are sitting on my shelf doing absolutely nothing. Gonna be a "no" for me.

price seems more aggressive than i presumed.

kinda not interested unless Alyx or something of that caliber hits, though.

Considering the hardware they're putting in the headset, the price isn't really that bad, but it's still high enough to make most people second guess the purchase decision.

Almost 1/3 of the price of the metaquest pro? Sounds like a good deal to me.

Oh dear, it's pretty expensive so I personally choose to skip it.

The games they make for it have to be good for me to even consider buying this.

I mean, really, really good. Like on par with their established IPs.

It's such a shame, but understandable with today's economy, for how high its priced.

Being in Canada, to get the Horizon Bundle (as my SO loves the series, its the only thing she'd be interested in on it) would be around $830 after tax, and that's mental to me

Maybe I’ll check it out in 2025, when the price has possibly dropped and there’s a few more games besides HL Alyx and a new Astro Bot worth playing. As of now, dropping 600€ on a headset is gonna be a no from me.

Show me the software.

But judging from the lack of output for VR on the PC, unless Sony 1st or 3rd party start cranking out hit after hit, I don't think it'll do well, no matter the price point.

Its interesting- its both a very good price and a very bad price. Its a good price when you consider what i'm sure it took to bring that thing to market. But its a bad price for a gimmick screen/controller with very limited software support and no clear roadmap forward.
