Our library is having a "free talk" (Non-profit event) on Zoom Webinar Platform that anyone can attend. It sorts fo a crazy subject on investigative forensic techniques, but nerdy in a way that some GB duders might like. You can register all teh way up to, or even past, the time the talk starts @ 7 PM EST. We do not make money on this; I just thought people might enjoy this live event...or want to check out the author's book or podcast.

Forensics Pioneer Author Talk

Kate Winkler Dawson's American Sherlock: Forensics, and the Birth of American CSI chronicles the revolutionary contributions of Edward Oscar Heinrich, who pioneered many of the forensic techniques used today. Many people are fascinated by the forensic techniques employed at crime scenes, but few know the origin story of these methods used to solve murders and other misdeeds.

Today, Wednesday, August 4, at 7 pm, in an online talk hosted by the Nantucket Atheneum, Winkler Dawson gives Heinrich his long-neglected due in an online discussion of his life and his work on some of the most perplexing and notorious cases of the first half of the twentieth century. Winkler Dawson is a documentary filmmaker, host of the podcast Tenfold More Wicked, and teaches at the University of Texas-Austin. This Nantucket Atheneum program is free, but registration is required.
