What is your favorite pokemon of gen 1?

I never fully got into the later gens, but it was nice playing something like white and noticing how they have so many options and types. That said something about the gen 1 haunter just got me. Him and a couple of others had that charm ya know.

So what is everyone elses...and if you can so i can see if biased by age, explain the age you learned of pokemon in like a 10s, 20s range. Dont have to obviously (im talking years as in i got into it in 2010s)

I probably got into Pokemon around 2001. I think Haunter was an early favorite of mine too. Squirtle was my starter of choice. I also remember liking Pidgeotto and Cubone. Nowadays, I think my favorite is probably Eevee, which I feel like is probably a boring choice.

My tastes have evolved *wink wink* since my younger years. I was very much a Blastoise main but nowadays I'm on Team Venusaur.

If I were to pick any that aren't the first 9 pokemon then I guess I'd go Pidgeot. So majestic.

Blastoise has a cannon. Blastoise wins.

Though I've always had a soft spot for Abra and it's evolutions as well.

Edit: Oh and late 98/early 99 was when I got into Pokémon. Basically since the beginning. I remember going on a 2 hour trip with a friend to pick up Pokémon Silver on release day. The excitement levels were very high!

Call me basic, but I like Charizard and Blastoise as well as the legendary birds in generation one of Pokémon. Also, Bulbasaur is dumb. This is a discussion about the best and coolest Pokémon, not dumbest looking plant-dog-like things!
