Hi all, I bought a Samsung smart TV att the start of October. I previously owned a pure Android based TV (a Philips).

So the TV I nice and all but Samsung have for whatever reason not included Chromecast functionality. Samsung phones can screen share but I don't own a Samsung phone so here we are.

Therefore I haven't found a easy way to watch GB content. My old TV connected with ease to the unofficial GB app's Chromecast function. My current solution is watching it through Steam link on my PC.

How do you guys watch GB content on your Samsung smart TV?

Does the TV not have a built in browser or YT app? I have an LG OLED and I just fire up their built in browser and it works really well. Honestly I don’t even know how chromecasting works.

I watch the WORST way possible-LOL. I use my PS4 and its crap browser. Sometimes use YouTube to watch the videos.

That is one thing I think PS5 might/could improve upon - a good useful browser. At the very least Sony should contract with Samsung, Opera, Firefox, or Avast to just make & update a proper PS5 browser that keeps up with website tech. It would be really nice if teh PS5 browser had a way to subscribe to, download and play podcast...and a way to have that "app" work in the background while playing a game.

@humanity: The TV's browser don't work with the live shows. And that's my favourite way to watch GB.

A good TV. I heard a lot of good reviews about it. I adore big TVs, and they are so nice and comfortable. I also have a big one at home, but unfortunately, I had many problems with it. I also encountered difficulties like yours, even worse. It would be best if you turned to specialists. I don't think you should do it yourself, it's not so safe, plus it's a good TV, which would be a shame to be spoiled. Get interested on the net by several companies in your region. For example, a company that provides services about large tv screen for hire https://www.ontourevents.co.uk/large-tv-screen-hire-london helped me with all my issues. I didn't think they would help me, but they did it quite qualitatively, and I'm satisfied. Good luck!

I do most web browsing through the superiors PS4 functionality....oh, did I say superior I meant nearly broken and useless. Nevertheless that is what I use. ;-)

I use my PS4 for Youtube, Netflix, Prime, and Hulu too. The apps are likely superious on other devices, but I have a well worn groove in my brain pathways to navigate these services using my DualShock. They say you can get used to any sort of terrible experiences and the apps on PlayStation 2, PSP, PS3, and PS4 prove that. I'm a sicko, so I actually have nastagas for using my PSP to view webpages!

I use an Apple TV 4K, there's a dedicated tvOS app for Giantbomb content that also keeps track of everything you've watched. You'll find AppleTV works more reliably and faster than streaming content from gaming consoles/ smart TV. You dont need to be an iphone user either. I know my parents have an apple tv and literally own no other Apple devices, they love it. I bought one for myself because I got fed up with how poorly the ps4 streaming apps work.

+1 for the Apple TV recommendation. It is expensive compared to other streaming boxes, but the ease of use and quality of the app makes it worth it to me.

Otherwise, can you not achieve what you were doing with your old TV by buying a Chromecast stick/box/dingus and plugging that into your new TV?

I have a slightly older Samsung. If it is just older stuff the built in YouTube app should work fine. For live stuff though I would have to go through the Twitch app on my PS4/5 to watch.
