The Community Spotlight 2023.04.15

Welcome to the latest edition of the Giant Bomb Community Spotlight! I, @zombiepie, am once again honored to be your host as we look back at the best community-created works from the previous week!

The staff have returned and have recovered from their DreamHack convention appearance. If you missed any of the livestreams, here is a review of what has been posted thus far, and I am going to include stuff the staff recorded while in route to the event. Obviously, the biggest news this week stems from the GLORIOUS RETURN OF THE GIANT BOMB STORE! Not only that, but the site is running a special promotion for those that live in the United States. If your merch order exceeds $75, the shipping fee will be waived. For those of you ordering internationally, because the supplier is based in the United States, please allow 7-10 business days for shipping of all apparel and feel free to report incredibly ridiculous shipping and handling charges to support@giantbomb.com. Oddly enough, non-apparel orders will ship quicker.

3DO

@borgmaster's blog series has been a perfect enough reason to honor the site's 3DO platform page especially as the console celebrates it's 20th anniversary since its launch. Was the console ultimately a failure? Sure, but that doesn't mean it did not have a history worth talking about!

Great update as always! Speaking of update, whatever happened to the plans with Arcade Pit? Last I remember reading it was going from weekly to something much less regular, like monthly, but I haven't seen one in ages and miss it oh so much.

@blitzfitness: The most recent post I saw from Smight on Patreon makes it sound like things have been really tough this year for him. There’s a landlord situation that sounds like it’s affecting the amount of content he’s been able to produce overall. Not sure Patreon has even billed me for the amount I have pledged to him the last couple of cycles.

I’m wishing for the best for him, and not just because I miss the Pit here.

Somehow, the Community Spotlight provides comfort to my Sundays every week. Well done sir.

@allthedinos: Yikes, thanks for the update. Also have my fingers crossed as well.

Yeah, sorry for not responding to this earlier as well. He's had health issues and then the landlord situation put even his Sunday show on hiatus for a bit. You can still catch Smight on Twitch and see if a version of Arcade Pit is airing on Sundays. Also, here's a link to Aster's Twitch page.
