Brand new everything, complete with a solid state and a 1080. I haven't played any graphically intensive PC games since the Tomb Raider reboot. What y'all recommend?
Nothing multi-player please.

If you like strategy games and Warhammer, Total Warhammer II and Dawn of War 3 look good. Rise of the Tomb Raider and Hellblade: Senua's Sacrifice have impressive graphics.
Don't forget that you can downsample using DSR from 2160p, 1800p or 1440p to whatever resolution your monitor is.
@depecheload: Crysis3, It's kinda "old" but still looks better than a ton of games, I beat it at least once a year.
If you want to ogle all the graphics than get Crysis 3, Witcher 3, Rise of the Tom Raider and Quantum Break. I've been playing the latter over the last several days and it's quite shocking how good this game looks. I haven't seen such natural lighting anywhere else.
Also Far Cry: Primal for the sometimes striking nature.
Some of the best looking games graphics wise I've seen this year are Hellblade and Wolfenstein II. Games like The Witcher III are also a really good test of hardware.
I just got a sweet new PC as well (1070 TI, 500GB SSD, 4ghz six core processor) and the first game I installed was DOOM and I've been playing it on ultra settings at 1440p. It looks so good, and it's so much fun. Honestly, the most fun I've had with games this year except for Horizon: Zero Dawn and maybe Stellaris.
Wolfenstein and Witcher 3 are definitely on my list as well.
DOOM for sure, The Witcher 3 is amazing, AC: Origins is pretty damn good too and looks fantastic. PUBG? lol if your into it I was for a while its a lot of fun.
In the short time I played Elite Dangerous, I really liked the graphics in that game. Battlefield 1 is another great game to turn up to ultra, especially if you have a 1440p or 4K monitor. Battlefront II is also a great looking game if you can get past all the lootbox stuff. Maybe just sign up for Origin Access and do the trial.
Since I'm playing it at the moment: Skyrim Special Edition with an ENB preset if miscellaneous adventures are your thing.
I have found most games are sacrificing fun factor for graphics. Its fun to max out a few new games but then the gameplay ends up boring after awhile. Tomb raider 2(reboot) is pretty taxing on a 1080 and looks real good but i fell off after a few hours. People really like doom, but i dont think higher res really does anything for it since its pretty cartoony looking, but it runs great on a 1080. Obviously if you haven't already played Witcher 3 check that out, few newer games with the total package and looks amazinf maxed at 1440.
Haven't tried Wolfenstein,Ass creed etc but they seem to look amazing but mixed performance reported from people. I also find crysis 3 a good game to look at but not much fun to play, old but still looks amazing.
If you have Origin installed you can buy Ultima IV.
Ashes of the Singularity seems to be the go-to hardware stress test these days. It's a decent RTS in the vein of Supreme Commander and Total Annihilation. Got a single player campaign though is primarily online oriented.
If you're into Myst style adventure games, Obstruction is a good looking game in that vein too.
Witcher 3, Metro Last Light, DOOM, Hitman.
I agreed with Last Light. That game is atmospheric as it gets.
