I have been playing through Fez today and am enjoying it immensely. One thing sticks out in my mind, though. I am at around the 16 cube mark and so I still have plenty of game left but I was wondering does the game ramp up in difficulty toward the end? The game seems to have two difficulties, in my mind. There is the regular cube collecting (somewhat challenging at times but mostly fine) and the secrets (vague as hell!). I am not complaining, mind you, it's just I'm not sure if I am missing out on big chunks of this game as, looking at the map, I don't seem to have solved any of the real "secrets" (me being an impatient idiot hardly helps).

I finished it a few hours ago and I didn't feel it got much harder toward the end. There was some platforming the required quick timing, but for the most part it's pretty tame. As for the secrets, I also can't figure them out, although I think most of the secrets are a series of trigger presses. Great game, looking forward to people cracking the codes in the coming weeks.

The platforming puzzles aren't too hard. They get more interesting when the black-holes show up, limiting your options, but it's not the challenging part of the game.

Discovering the secrets is the really puzzly part, and they are really tough to crack.

Finding the anti-cubes is a completely different ballpark to the rest of the game so yeah I'd say it's kind of a 50/50 split between 'not too bad' and 'you'll need a PhD in physics to work this out'.
