Have I missed something major among all of the trailers and E3 coverage on the site? Months and weeks leading up to the expo, I thought rumors were pretty solid confirming Rockstar Games having a "significant presents" at this year's show. I know they typically don't announce or even attend, but I was pretty sure they had even said they would be around, making some noise. No new Red Dead, no Bully 2, no GTA story content, no Agent (please still be a thing.) Will they announce something post show? Next week? I need answers, people!

If I was better at image editing I'd photoshop a pile of gifts with Rockstar logos on them

There is a rumor that Rockstar was going to be at the Sony show but, for some reason they pulled out at the last minute.

I'm still about... 80% certain a Red Dead 2 (OK, 3) will get announced before the year is up.

Right now word on the street is they showed something off behind closed doors. We don't know for certain, but that's what we have right now.

I don't have the resources to do the research... but as I recall the actual rumor was that Rockstar would have a big announcement "soon."

It's pretty easy for that to morph into: "Rockstar will announce something at #Weed3!"

I think everyone puts too much stock into rumors these days.

Even when Rockstar did show at E3 it was for Press only..... and that was before 2007.

For some reason I call red dead revolver, "risky redneck revolver".

One of the best parts about the GameSpot chat during the full-day stage shows were Mods telling people Red Dead wasn't going to make an appearance.

Also the timing wasn't exactly great for a game about gunning people down with realistic firearms.

Rockstar doesn't need an E3 to set the world on fire with an announcement. It always seemed unlikely they would be there.

There were plenty of other games like that at E3 though.

I reckon that the truth is that 2K that they was already showing Mafia 3 anyway, but that's what they want you to think. The truth is that daddy Rockstar didn't come to your birthday party this year because he don't love you no more, but I could probably get him to come to your Gamescom bar mitzvah if I ask him real nice and you slip me a $20. Probably.

I admit it's a long shot. Then again, name a game at E3 that has a greater mindshare than a new Rockstar game.

Anytime anyone hears that Take Two is going to be at E3 they assume it is Rockstar. Mafia 3 was the big game they were pushing at the show.

Yeah it was all about Mafia 3 this year for 2K.
