In honor of Human Revolution coming out in a few weeks i had been planning on a play through Deus Ex and Deus Ex 2 with the goal of refreshing myself on the story. But after playing for a few hours and reaching the hotel area of hell's kitchen...i died...random guard came up behind me and blew my brains out while i was about to stab one of his buddies in the back..and that's when i came to this  ulgy realization: Deus Ex does not offer an auto save system and i would have to restart the story over if i wished to continue my quest.
I didn't restart. I instead went to Wikipedia and read the story of both games and i feel like i have done something quite awful. Or i have cheated myself in some horrible way. Anyways..i felt like sharing this..dunno why. Probably to relive myself of this incredibly stupid guilt over not playing a video game properly.

Your not a bad person at all. But you have cheated your self out of actually experiencing the game, cause there are many way of playing it. But at least you got the story from Wikipedia.

As a person who has an OCD with game saves, I find it truly mind boggling that you could play a game for hours without saving at least once. I've saved at least 200 times and I'm on the same level as you. Also no, you are not a bad person for reading the plot of both games on the Internet. Perhaps you can play the games after you finished Human Revolution since it's a prequel to Deus Ex and Invisible War.

Im actually thinking of going that route. Maybe after i dig into Human Revolution i might have so extra time during winter break to murder some dudes in the face in Deus Ex 1.

Naw. You're not a bad person.  I'm of the opinion that consistent autosaves should've been made standard issue since 1998. My only solution for games that don't have this almost necessary feature is to save like a paranoid schizophrenic. It works.
