Major Nelson just tweeted about this
WAY to good of a deal to pass up. I have it all ready but anyone who has not played this game needs to.
Deus Ex
Game » consists of 8 releases. Released Jun 22, 2000
A celebrated cyberpunk-themed first-person role-playing game, Deus Ex puts players behind the shades of JC Denton--an operative thrust into a world of byzantine global conspiracies.
Guess what is 99 cents on games for windows live!
Thanks for the heads up but I was rather disapointed having missed that your forum topic was in the Deus Ex forum section.
I never played it when it first came, and had I done so I'd wager that I'd love it still. But I've tryed out for an hour and couldn't stand how dated it is and how slow the game moves in terms of progression.
Maybe I've been spoiled by todays games but I just can't play Deus Ex without cringing... Sorry...
Still runs off the disc, no need for these silly online versions.
Unlike my F*$&ing copy of Gears of War...
"If it was a Games for Windows Live game, the Steam version would be a GFWL game as well. It's not a Games for Windows Live game, it's just being distributed through the Games for Windows Marketplace. You download it, and it installs. No need to have the Games for Windows Marketplace client installed on your computer at all, so it does have that advantage over Steam.I bought it for $2.50 on steam, I guess I got ripped off.
"
Edit: then again, GFWL? Lol, no thanks.
If it was a Games for Windows Live game, the Steam version would be a GFWL game as well. There are Live games available on Steam.
So I don't have to log on to GFWL, to get to this marketplace? It's all on a website?
" @CL60: I see it now, however the thread title should drop the live part. I don't use this service for digital distribution so i'm not familiar with it. I don't even have a games for windows live account, so I couldn't tell the difference. "It is impossible to change a thread title. Just get the game. Who cares what it is on.
Whatever, I just read the games for windows faq I still don't fully get it. So microsoft is now supporting pc games again? It said you need some kind of online activation yet you don't need the client program to play games. I guess I need to do more research, yet I won't use the service.
Btw I already have deux ex on steam, I never installed it yet.
