Hey guys, 
 
So I've come to a little problem with this achievement, where you have to escort 8 people at once. I've restarted twice so far trying to do this.  

I followed a guide perfectly so far up to rescuing 8 survivors. However, Welcome to the Family (the last two guys I need to have 8 people) never starts for me. I don't understand why it did for him and not me, but apparently if you have too many queues up, the game stops giving you side missions. This happens when you have about 6 people or so. But then how else would you get 8 people at once since it cuts me off from side missions? I'm playing on the 360 version, if that helps.

Confusing. I already tried this twice It'll be a big bummer if I can never get this achievement. 

 Not too sure on the whole patch screwing things over thing.
  
However,  I started a whole new Chuck to see if restarting all achievement progress would fix any of my problems.
 
I wound up getting the Come On! Follow Me! achievement. The problem was --for some odd reason-- by not doing the quest that introduces the who "Looters sell stuff at stores," it wouldn't allow Welcome to the Family to start. I really don't understand why. So I got that figured out and finished off that achievement no problem. 
 
However, I think I'll never be able to receive the "Make a drink" achievement. As I made a few drinks on my brand new Chuck and it still wouldn't unlock. Very frustrating. I hope that once I hit level 25 (sometime today) that I'll unlock the 25 achievement. 
 
It's only a issue because I really enjoy Dead Rising's achievements. They're fun, and they're done right.
