I am seriously considering importing this. I don't really know if it will have an english translation though. Does anybody here have any experience importing games from japan and might know if it may come with a language option?

The Japanese version of the game would not have an English language option. The Asian version however should.

@turambar It only comes out early in Japan. It seems like an odd throwback to yesteryear to have split release dates like this.

Don't import. Its Japanese only. Wait for western release.

I mean it's a souls game, might be one of the easiest games to figure out with no text.

Play some Salt and Sanctuary to tide you over until then instead.

Personally speaking, I want to experience the game at it's very best, what with it being the final entry in the franchise. Even if it were translated, you'd still run into few legible messages, and any PvP interaction would have a ton of latency.

So sit tight and twirl your thumbs along with the rest of us!

@fredddi43: Yeah, it has been. Not sure why, but if I were to wager a guess, it was a cost-saving and contextually appropriate measure. Sure, you could spend money and get all these VAs representing various languages, including your native tongue, but I'm not sure that lends itself to dark, medieval fantasy land.

But if you import you're a godless heretic. Nah just kidding, but I will be extremely jelly. I want this game so bad.

There is a big hub bub going on in r/dark souls 3 because apparently xbox 1 JPN dark souls 3 can be played completely in English, along with the fact that streamers are getting the complete English version 3 weeks early too

i think it is overblown but it is a pretty dumb release plan, however keep I can guarttee the stuff ive heard is 100% true

I was going to import it myself, but the shipping from play-asia is no longer cheap. I'm not willing to pay almost $80 for three weeks early. Especially when you consider I'll get it from Amazon for $47 shipped.

You might as well wait. It's only a few weeks.

If you have an JPN Xbox One you can indeed play it in english in it's entirety. I would otherwise just wait for regular release and try not to look for spoilers.

Any word on when/if it will come up on the Japanese PSN store?
