It had to be done. After years of lagging behind boob jiggle physics, butt jiggle physics has finally caught up.
 
It all started in King of Fighters' 96. Mai Shiranui not only had boob jiggle, her butt cheeks were flopping around, too! Never before had anyone seen such animation in any game. Every time she did those low D kicks, her butt rippled for a good second:

Like that wasn't enough, when polygon 3D took over developers started to animate butt jiggle with physics engines instead of sprite animations. I believe the first game to feature this was Soulcalibur on Dreamcast. Ivy and Taki had a little jiggle in the wiggle, but it was Xianghua who really won the award for "shaky pudding".

And last but not least, there's even a game which had manually animated butt jjiggle in 3D! That is, no sprites and no physics engine. That game was P.N.03. While the heroine is well known for shaking her butt, not many people know that her butt also shakes:

Apart from these three pioneers, there are lots and lots of games with female butt jiggle... and scarily enough, some with male ones as well, but let us not go deeper there...
 
So, what do you think of butt jiggle physics and animations? Is it sexy or does it only show that the lady has skipped workput?
 
Personally, I think it's mixed. Some of those buns only jiggle a bit from a jump, and that's natural. That's what a normal, firm butt does. But some others jiggle and wobble like pudding, and that means the girl has a flabby butt.

That and the fact that she's actually a character and not a sex object makes her more attractive than two breasts and an ass. Meanwhile, I'm not much of an ass man so I don't see the appeal here.

Speed Anal is my favourite middleware for butt jiggle physics.

I might be ok if I never noticed this in a game for the rest of my life.

On the subject of butt jiggling: I think it's all right as long as it's not taken overboard (which it unfortunately is in most games that feature it). A little jiggle can look good on a nice, big ass, but a super jiggly ass looks awful. Especially when the physics are all weird, which they usually are.

P.N. 03's Vanessa is an example of ass jiggle done right. Mai and Soulcalibur girls like Xianghua are examples of ass jiggle gone too far.

I think what you're trying to say is that when a butt jiggles a little bit, it still looks firm. But when it jiggles too much it looks flabby.
 
You say you think that Xianghua's butt jiggles too much, but isn't that because she has a flabby butt? Maybe people takes for granted that all females in games are supposed to have perfect bodies with toned muscle. So yes, obviously Xianghua's butt is soft, but is that wrong?

I think the reason Vanessa's butt jiggle looks so "perfect" is because it was animated manually and not based on a physics engine. That's exactly how the developers wanted it to jiggle. And when I say "perfect", I don't mean that it looks good, just that the developers got exactly what they wanted.

How do you edit the concept pages? Vanessa from P.N.03 doesn't have any butt jiggle. It's WIGGLE, guys. She wiggles her butt, but it doesn't jiggle. Common misunderstanding, though. Her butt is firm. :-)

She's even the poster girl for this concept, so it really should be changed.

I question the reliability of this concept, because I'm pretty sure people are mistaking "wiggle" for "jiggle".

For example, people says that Meryl from MGS has butt jiggle, which is completely untrue. What they're referring to is the sequence when she runs in her soldier uniform, her butt wiggles and Snake sees she's a woman because of her wiggle. But her butt doesn't JIGGLE. Jiggle is when the butt shakes on its own like jello. Keep to this rule and it's pretty simple to differentiate:

JIGGLE: Her butt shakes

WIGGLE: She shakes her butt

Butt jiggle is clearly superior to breast physics. It is both sexier and can be applied to both genders. These are facts.

Except that nature itself is not gender equal in this case: women generally have a lot more fat in their hips and buttocks than men - and therefore, naturally, a lot more women have butt jiggle than men.

Besides, equality itself is not automatically a good thing. Depends on who you ask.

Im down for more games having butt jiggle. In this post Miley Cyrus twerking world we need more butt shaking physics.

So... when I first read this, I couldn't think of a single game that features the aforementioned "but jiggle", that being some sort of surface rippling effect on the posterior. I was thinking I was going to have to go back and look for this in all these games until the poster clarified that most people are misinterpreting "Wiggle" for "jiggle".

I'd agree.I've never heard of a game that features any kind of butt jiggling physics. I feel like it would be really hardware intensive for not much benefit. And with how the breast jiggle in games like DOA, where it's a thing, is still not perfected in a way that it looks in any way convincing, I think if butt jiggle existed, everyone would know it.

I'm with you. To properly represent current pop culture, all games should come with a "butt" setting, similar to DOA "breast" setting.

I laugh so much at this.FunkasaurusRex and bigjeffrey tries to be political correct by showing males (because we all know butt jiggle is far more common on women, for natural reasons - and some people can't stand the fact that nature itself isn't gender equal), but what they actually do is giving us prime examples of butt WIGGLE.

Both Snake and Master Chief shake their butts, but their butts don't shake. This is why there's a lot of cleaning up to do in the butt jiggle concept - people still don't understand the difference between jiggle and wiggle.

Here's a good example of butt jiggle, of the girl who first started it:

I really wasn't sure and scanned over this thread at least 4 or 5 times before clicking. I saw two gifs.... one of Solid Snake's ass and one of Master Chief in Armor. Disappointed. I should have not clicked. Usually the first gut instinct is correct. The perv in me got owned.

Well, each to their own. :-) It's good that you understand the difference between hip/butt shaking (Snake and Master Chief) and butt jiggling (Mai) at least.

Bayonetta is another prime example of hip/butt shaking. She wiggles her butt a lot when she walks, but her buttocks don't jiggle - they're firm.

Only characters with slightly flabby or flabby butts have butt jiggle. And I'm not saying that as something neative, as I've stated previously, many people find it sexy when the butt is a little flabby while the rest of the body is toned and in shape.
