    Striving For Mediocrity

The game itself kind of suffers from one recurring problem, which is an extremely long and trivial experience that feels more like DLC and product than a gaming experience. The very long main story overstays its welcome by many hours, at times near the end I felt like I just wanted the thing to be done with. While the game has some good plot moments with vibarant characters, I tended to simply ignore most of them as the amazingly annoying sitcom-styled humor that is sometimes corny and sometimes pop culture made me tune out just about all the audio except for the guns.

I don't agree with developers pushing DLC before a game is in store shelves, and this game kind of suffers from that. What doesn't help is, again, the whole experience feels like a DLC experience itself for the first game. Gearbox seemed to push a game that makes a good purchase instead of a good game. I never felt that RPG immersion, I would hardly call this an RPG more like a Michael Bay game with cel-shading, and the length of everything involved made me want an end to it all very quickly.

Technical issues? Yes. Not really sure what was the holdup for three years on the game as the texture pop in gets downright annoying at times, and I would rather play something that has set limits and runs well when I just played the same thing a few years ago. The pop in would be so bad I would be standing looking around at things ten feet from me popping in. Not sure if Unreal is the right choice for more of an open world game like this, yet I really feel like the game is unfinished.

I can't stand the humor and how the story seems to invade on what is at its heart a pop run n shoot game. For every somewhat funny thing heard, I would have to first listen to Disney styled sitcom moments that made me cringe. Also, if you are creating what you want to be an RPG and immersive don't do pop memes left and right. From dubstep to any other thing, it felt like I was getting slammed by mishits with pop references way too much. Not funny, quit trying so damn hard.

At the core of the game is a really fine action game, though. I have to say the amount of fun from guns and such is amazing in the game. Yet this is part of the problem as the game itself seems to not know when to stop with the storyline. I have my guns, I have my ammo now shut up with the cornball humor and meddling storyline.

The game itself didn't know where to end, much like this review, and the ongoing main missions towards the end just seemed like fetch quests. The ending should have been with SPOILERS!!!!, the Angel character and her end role in the game, yet Gearbox wanted more product.

Good rental, already took it back.

Borderlands 2 is a FPS RPG that is a sequel from 2009′s Borderlands. It takes everything the original Borderlands does, and makes incremental improvements but doesn’t change enough to make it a revolutionary game. It is a very safe sequel that continues to have many of the problems that the original had.How does Borderlands 2 play? The main gameplay of Borderlands 2 is a first person shooter. You use some regular types of guns like pistols, assault rifles, shotguns and other guns but each gun is ...

More stats and variations on the weapons gives the combat a little more flair in Borderlands 2 Borderlands' vast array of weapons and fun co-op play was what made it fun and exciting. But its generic firefights and setting held it back from becoming more than just a fun replacement for Left 4 Dead. For its sequel, developer Gearbox Software set out to fix the problems that plague the original concept and make it a much more filled out and enjoyable experience. In Borderlands 2 Gearbox not only im...
