    The Blast Frequency Gun or more commonly known as the B.F.G, was developed for the single task of extracting queens from gas zombies.

    Overview

    The Blast Frequency Gun made it's first appearance in Dead Rising 2 and was also included in the downloadable sequel Dead Rising 2: Case West. The weapon was developed by Phenotrans to extract queens from zombies mutated by gas safely, it shoots out a beam of high frequency sound waves. When used on Gas Zombies it will cause them to convulse until their heads explode and they die but if you use it on a regular zombie they will just get knocked down without taking damage. When you try and use the gun on a survivor it will either have no effect of cause them to keel over and vomit. The abbreviation for the gun is probably a reference to the infamous gun from the Doom franchise.
