All 3 games are awesome but
My vote is for Battlefield 2, it has everything great about 1942 and just feels better than 2142 and is funner imo.

Battlefield 2..... Battlefield 1942 comes a close second as it was not only  the one that started it all and was a hell of a lot of fun, but the singleplayer experience and bot matches are supreme over every other BF game. But nothing compares to BF2 in the way it looks, and gameplay, (once you have the BF2SP64 mod.

yes they are.... if you look through this forum you'll see my post which lists ALL the good mods and tutorials you'll need for BF2 and BF2142. In my opinion they really bodged up on the singleplayer element of  BF2 and 2142 because you couldn't add any more bots to the game without modding and editing files, you couldn't play any of the stock 32 or 64 player maps, people had to do a heck of a job to get them to work, and then create AI path findings for each of the bigger size maps, it was just insane, and no reason at all to leave those bigger maps for online only, it ws just crazy, especially if you played LAN games a lot, no way you could fill those bigger maps with like just you and 4 or 5 friends!!!  to disable the bot SP and /or LAN matches almost ruined the entire game.... wasn't for mods i probably would not rate it as high as i do...

battlefield vietnam.  I don't like bf2 and all the newer ones.

I played BF 1942 years after and I wasn't surprised I wasn't too amazed by it. Battlefield 2 is the one I spent the most time, and I enjoy the most. I haven't played 2142.

Only really had fun with 1942 when it was a completely new thing and awesome. All the "patches" with 2 kinda ruined it for me, and I haven't had the chance to play 2142.

Battlefield 1942 without a doubt. Started it all and innovated FPS as well as being one of the first ww2 shooters.

Battlefield 2 for me, 1942 is too old and 2142 wasn't as innovative as BF2 was.

2 > 2142 > 1942.

I've logged so many hours into Battlefield 2.

Battlefield 1942 comes in second.

I never played Battlefield 2142, it looked like a glorified mod, might try it out one of these days though.

I played 1942 since release and then 2142, then bf2. I bought bf2 right after release but my old shiet comp couldnt run it.

i had that issue with BF2142, but to be honest, 2142 has never really appealed to me, it wasn't even new graphics was out like 10 months after BF2 or something silly like that wasn't it?

2142 > all. 2142 is the most original and balanced bf game IMO. I <3 titan mode.
