Your Most Wanted Achievements (8/9 - 8/14)

John Madden pitches a tent and camps out on the top spot while 'Splosion Man looks on in envy.

Looks like my prediction from last week was correct, and Madden NFL 10 continues to sit at the top of our most popular list. The game only hit today, so that means more and more people out there have been getting ready for the game's release by seeking out the list of its achievements. They're planning ahead. I like that. The Madden achievements seem like they're best done when you're specifically trying to get them, since most of them are too specific to be left to random chance.

Trials HD also hits the list, as its this week's Xbox Live Arcade release. This is also the first week without Plants vs. Zombies in awhile... yet Call of Duty: World at War is now on the list. I suppose they must have added some achievements along with that most recent map pack, right?

Uh... boom?

Top Ten Sets (8/9 - 8/14)

  1. Madden NFL 10
  2. 'Splosion Man
  3. G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra
  4. Fallout 3
  5. Marvel vs. Capcom 2
  6. Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Turtles in Time Re-Shelled
  7. Prototype
  8. Trials HD
  9. Ghostbusters: The Video Game
  10. Call of Duty: World at War

We've got a pair of new sets for unreleased games this week, with Wolfenstein achievements now showing up on the site. They're currently showing up a little weird, but I expect that'll all be worked out before the game releases next week. Shadow Complex achievements are also on the site. I've been playing Shadow Complex for the past week and will have a review of that on Monday. Wolfenstein's also on my plate, and I'm just now digging into that. There are already a bunch of people playing it online, but they're all from outside the US. Guess it must have shipped early outside of the US or something.

And then there's the top ten individual list, which contains the same games it did last week, but some of the achievements themselves are a little different. Chalk it up (once again) to the way 'Splosion Man and Marvel vs. Capcom 2 don't explain themselves fully in their achievement descriptions. I expect a few Shadow Complex achievements could make it onto this list next week.

By the way, the end credits in this game are still awesome.

OK, that's it. I'm going to get back to writing about Shadow Complex and playing more Wolfenstein. But hey, before I go, Sony is supposedly going to roll out some new trophy statistic stuff over on playstation.com soon. I don't want to get anyone's hopes up, but I'm hoping that it'll include enough data for us to do our thang and finally get trophies on the site. Keep your fingers crossed, PS3 players.
