Far from perfect, but close to fun
Well if you're anything like I was a week ago. You've already heard of this game and are just looking for a reason to finally shell out some clams for it or erase it's existence from your mind. I don't think anyone could honestly say they love this game, but if you're a true fan of RPGs then you've gotta give this game one play through at the very least. Is it riddled with flaws like you've heard? Yes it is, but I feel the fun factor out weighs it's flaws. A story that changes depending on your choices isn't something you get to see a lot in games. Alpha Protocol does this pretty well. There's quite a range of weapon upgrades available if you have the cash. There are also some interesting abilities gained depending on how you level up your character. I chose to go stealth my first play through and although it was satisfying at times, the bugs make this path a frustrating one. There are moments when you will be crouched and want to lean into some cover. If you're lucky it will work, but some objects can't be leaned on apparently and you will find yourself standing up instead, alerting the enemies, of course...reload. So if you're a big RPG fan and love trying things that take a different direction and give you more choices, I would recommend giving this game a try. If you, however, are looking for a shooter. Don't waste your time.
