Alpha Protocol. Overlooked but good.
So-so game play, great story. Immersible and truly reacts to what you do in the game world, unlike some other RPGs. Not very customizable either. Game really picks up after the beginning Saudi Missions, with some of the Taiwan missions being very very good. I played through it twice. I'm not the type to really finish games now days if they don't really grip me. Voice acting is okay. It would have been very nice if Obsidian had the opportunity to completely finish the game as there are some some story archs that are obviously not finished. As mentioned, this game really does have consequences. As with in Deus Ex and Hitman, the way you interact with people or the preparations you take before and in a mission can really change how the level plays out, who is on your side, who you fight against, etc. But Obsidian simply ran out of time. Oh well, these things happen. Not game of the year material but definitely something that is going to be wrongly overlooked for years to come. Please pick this game up. Buy it new, even, so you'll continue to support Obsidian even though we'll probably never get another AP game. Maybe they should port it to the 3DS? That would certainly be nice.
