I thought this game was cool and more fleshed-out than the first.

Looks interesting.

If people are driven crazy by obvious solutions to things, maybe skip around on this quick look. They waste a lot of time in the forest area.

Will be checking this out sometime in the future, thats for sure.

Some classic 'over-thinking it' going on in the forest.

I dunno, the first had it's charm because it went through the generations so fast with upgrade after upgrade. This seems to linger way to much in 1 and as such becomes a bit boring.

The first was real fun, definitely going to give this a shot.

Love the way the 3D section of the game looks. For some reason the art style for it reminded me of Oceanhorn. :O

Also, from a (Christian) theology perspective: yes, angels were created by God prior to creating humans. They have some form of free will, as Satan was an angel who rebelled and was condemned the same way that humanity was condemned for sin.

Free will does get to be a tough area in general to understand, as another core Christian doctrine is the sovereignty of God -- that is, that all history is under the total control of God's will. So then when you get people who rebel against God's commands you get the weird question of "but isn't it God's will that nobody disobeys his commands?" and there are differing answers to that question within different Christian denominations.

Kinda boring, but apparently MISS BURGER is Ginny from Saga Frontier 2, so that counts for something I guess...

I mean, I get the nostalgia for these games. I played them too. But even if we're going to ape the art style, can we write characters that aren't from children's books?

Literally just bought and installed this like 2 hours ago. Haven't checked it out yet, loved the first one despite it's unoriginal blatant FF7 references.

I had low expectations of the first game, and I was still very disappointed. It was a four hour game that had heavy grinding. I also took issue with the order the 'evolutions' were presented, but that was a minor gripe. (Gameboy coming before Nintendo, having to discover verticality, etc.)

I think a good many people bought the original based on the very cool and unique core idea. I'm not sure if this is going to find success from the players of the original, but I could be an outlier in how disappointed I was. This certainly looks more polished, even if it leans more on the Zelda aspect of the first than the JRPG aspects.

The demon designs also look very familiar...

This looks much more like a game than the original where the reward was seeing the next graphical or gameplay evolution while the gameplay became a chore when those rewards stop hitting as often.

Really enjoyable and oddly relaxing even. Would have loved to watch Vinny play through its entirety.

I kinda didn't like this game. The Layton thing was cute, but otherwise the writing is pretty bland for the most part and it doesn't control great in any of the different segments. Also, that cooldown on your party abilities is seriously annoying when you're just trying to figure out puzzles. Which often just involve killing all enemies, as Vinny and Austin demonstrated multiple times in this QL.

So yeah, the gimmick works but it's not a particularly great game. Kinda like the first one, except longer.

Glad to see the second game seems a bit better. And as usual, love the Vinny and Austin combo. Austin brings so much to GBEast.

Can't help but wish this developer would focus in on making a good isometric Zelda-like without the gimmick of evolving gameplay.

This is one of the most enticing indie games I've seen in a while. Even if it does seem like a bit of a Zelda clone.
