My uncle is a trucker. Still. He's in his mid 70's and refuses to retire completely. Been at it for 45 years. He won't retire because he says he needs it to stay sane. Being retired sitting at home is death to him. In response to Abby's trucker constants: gritty is a yes, sad absolutely no.

@montanamike: From the basis of having never driven an 18-wheel truck or played the game, it certainly looks like it does as you have 5 or 6 positions in a regular vehicle and 12+ in the truck. But it has also been a decade+ since I learned how to drive stick on an out of the way road.

In 15 years we are going to have trucking simulators that use fully accurate maps of the US/the world and I am SO ready for it. Anxiety makes driving a nightmare for me, so the idea of self-driving cars and the ability to get the sight-seeing and driving fix digitally (and in a way that is completely risk-free) is crazy appealing.

I didn't expect them to drive like a mile from my house in Bend, but it's wild how accurate this thing is, considering.

Eddie Furlong was in American History X which also had Edward Norton who played in Fight Club which had Brad Pitt. Voila.

Eh people give Abby a hard time about not knowing people but I never saw what LeBron James or Kanye West looked like until around 2016 so not everyone gives a shit about all aspects of pop culture. I've got laughed at by friends because we saw Nas and several other celebs in Vegas and I never noticed and would always ask who it was and why were people following. Not knowing arsenio hall in 2019 is not a big deal.
